Keep Your Setup Clean: Care for Keyboards, Mice & Pads
Dust, crumbs and skin oil are what make a setup feel worn. A few minutes every couple of weeks keeps it feeling new. Unplug everything before you start.
Keyboard
Turn it over and tap out loose crumbs, then blow between the keys with compressed air. For a deeper clean, pull the keycaps with a keycap puller and wash them in lukewarm soapy water — let them dry completely before refitting. Keep liquid away from the switches and the board itself.
Switches
Leave them alone unless a key feels scratchy, sticky or chatters. On a hot-swap board, a misbehaving switch can simply be pulled and replaced.
Mouse
Wipe the shell with a barely damp microfiber cloth — never spray liquid onto or into the mouse. Clean the skates and sensor window gently with a dry cloth or cotton swab. Skates scratched or worn down? Fresh skates bring the glide back.
Mousepad
Most cloth pads can be hand-washed: lukewarm water, a little mild soap and a soft sponge, then rinse and let it air-dry flat — no dryer, no direct heat. Glass pads just need a wipe with a microfiber cloth. Don't wash anything with built-in electronics (like RGB edges), and check each product page for item-specific care.
