Find Your Grip: Matching a Mouse to Your Hand

The right mouse disappears in your hand. Three things decide it: how big your hand is, how you hold the mouse, and how heavy you like it.

Measure your hand

Length: from the crease of your wrist to the tip of your middle finger. Width: straight across the palm at the knuckles, thumb excluded. Compare both with the mouse-fit chart in the size guide, then with the dimensions on each product page.

Know your grip

Palm — your whole hand rests on the shell; longer mice with a rounded back suit it. Claw — palm on the rear, fingers arched over the buttons; a pronounced rear hump helps. Fingertip — only your fingertips touch the mouse; short, light shells are the easiest to flick.

Weight

Lighter mice are quicker to start and stop, which many players like for fast flicks and tracking. A little more weight can feel steadier for small, precise adjustments. Neither is wrong — it comes down to feel.

Symmetrical vs ergonomic

Symmetrical shells are the same on both sides and work with every grip. Ergonomic shells are sculpted for one hand and tend to suit relaxed palm grips.
